What was the highlight of Hostal CQ Lourdes
Loud, drug using volunteer but Alex was super cool
The most positive experience was one of the workers at the hostel named Alex. She took us to a market and we tried a variety of different local fruits and then she took us through the most well known parts of Bogota. She was very knowledgeable and was a fun person to hang out with for the day.
If you value sleep DO NOT stay here. The hostel is right next to a very busy road and the rooms are not insulated for the sound. There were people up until about 5 in the morning and you could hear them in the common area as well. I have dealt with rooms next to roads before and just acknowledged that I am staying at a hostel but the road next to my room was unbearably loud. Loudness is one thing but one of the hostel volunteers was noticeably inebriated on some type of drug and I do not discriminate against drug use but my problem was this particular worker brought in a shady person into the hostel and made me question if my things were safe.

As a solo traveller I was always invited to do something...
As a solo traveller I was always invited to do something (hiking/night out/city tour) by the friendly staff in the hostel that I was never bored. Comfortable beds and quiet neighbourhood. Lots of supermarkets and shops nearby. I enjoyed my stay there a lot.
Slightly far away from centre, takes you 30 mins by bus from the hostel.

Not the best experience. Staff not helpful when you need them to be
it is cheap and near the friends and locations I was heading to
Got robbed and the staff were not very helpful and blamed it on me for not putting valuables in the locker. They stole things you would normally put in a locker and the lockers were not big enough for everything I own. I later found my toothbrush hanging out of the rubbish bags outside so there is a chance the cleaner threw my stuff out. I asked if they could check the cameras to see who left the bedroom with my stuff but nobody wanted to help. It's almost like it is normal for things to go missing there.

What was the highlight of Hostal CQ Lourdes
Very basic, if staying in cold months bring sleeping bag!
It’s a very basic hostel, about 35 minutes by bus from city center (line 385, stops almost in front of the entrance) with good breakfasts. Big supermarket around the corner.
I’ve stayed there at the beginning of september when nights were very cold (ca. 7 celsius degrees). My dorm had sort of tinware roof (like walls on the costruction site) with I guess holes between the roof and the wall. This means that it was windy inside and freezing cold during the night. Beds had only sheets with thin blankets. I assume that some of the owners friends or hostel employees were also living in dorms since there was a random guy (I thought he was working there, I might not be right) walking in and out my dorm during various times of a day. He talked on his phone there, I think was chilling out on one of the beds in a daytime (bed seemed to be occupied and used) but noone was staying there in the night. He was also popping by during the night checking what’s happening behind the curtins on bottom bed. Very strange, made me feel unsafe a bit. It might be somekind of misunderstanding since I don’t speak Spanish - couldn’t check that with the hostel owner.
